How to Use This Page
On the left column, you will see the proposed version or versions of the new constitution. If you click on the “?” icon next to the text, an explanation or commentary for each section will appear. You can also leave your views and arguments in the comments section. To maintain the organization of the site, off-topic comments will be removed.
At the top of the right column, you’ll find a dropdown menu where you can select a country for comparison. A summary of that country’s constitution will then appear in the right column.
Once we, as a society, come to an agreement about the kind of governance we want, we will work together with constitutional experts from around the world to ensure that the new constitution aligns with international standards.
Elected Representatives
- Citizens aged 25-70
- The top four exam scorers per district, including the incumbent, shall qualify for elections.
Sortition-based Representatives
- Electoral districts: One Merit-based Elected Representative and One Pre-qualified Sortition-based Representative per district. District size is less than 50 000 or less than 100 000 for cities. Borders are determined by CEC.
Other Representatives
- It is the responsibility of each district to define four primary legislative priorities, which candidates must address in their campaigns in written form on district website. Additionally candidates have a right to bring forward two additional priorities of their own.
- Pass a rigorous entrance exam testing governance, policy, and ethical reasoning as established and updated by Central Election Commission. Incumbent who has previously taken the exam is exempt. Have no convictions for corruption. Formally forgo any party affiliation.
